Has anyone had to deal with being anemic during pregnancy.. they just told me I have anemia and need to take iron supplements once a day and then later on twice a day.
I'm gonna start out by eating more iron rich foods. This sucks. 😶😶 but I have to do it for my baby.
I take iron 3 times a day. Eating iron rich foods help but will not increase your levels significantly and it will take forever using solely food. I also started cooking in an iron cast skillet. AND lots and lots of fiber. I eat oatmeal everyday for breakfast and dried fruit throughout the day. Helps keep things moving along. 💩💩💩
Yea I bet taking it 3 times a day, that's a lot. My ob said once a day and later on 2 times a day and she prescribed a stool softener as well. I'm not looking foward to it.
@abigailyanez, It’s not so bad if you keep up with your fiber, softeners and water intake. 🙂
I did/am. I’ve always been borderline anemic all my life so it was not a shocker when they told me I had to take supplements in both pregnancies.
I'll have to pick up the prescription they gave me when they open on Tuesday since its veterans weekend..
I took the iron pills they prescribed me and kept taking my prenatal vitamins and yes everything went well.Just don’t let your iron get to low you’ll start getting tired all the time with no energy. With the 4th pregnancy things went well no anemia.
Okay, I'll just take the ones they prescribe me. As for prenatal I drink vitamin drinks. Since the gummys make me sick.
I was anemic of iron and b12 😳 had to take 2 iron tablets a day and a b12 shot every month
