How long is too long for CIO? The baby is screaming ( he’s safe in his playpen with plenty of cool toys and his paci) and I’m trying to clean up my kitchen I keep telling him he’s okay and I’m still right here but I can’t hold him right now. He’s 8 almost 9 months but I don’t want him to think he’s abandoned or something I never had this problem with my daughter once she got his age so idk what to do 😩
@mombie., that’s what I’m thinking but it’s so hard to carry him literally all day and still tend my toddlers like I need to I can’t seem to find that perfect median so that all of my kiddos are all well watched and cared for like I feel they all need to be 😩
Try a stroller only way to get him to calm down and put him down at my in-laws bit it has to keep moving but might help a little
@goingbacktobed, I wore him in his carrier until my back literally couldn’t take it anymore (I pulled my lower back out of place or something last week and it’s really sensitive still lol) and then just tried to keep him close and entertained and of course if his crying got loud or he seemed really upset I’d get him for a minute to calm him but as soon as I go to sit him down he does this blood curdling scream thing that terrifies my girls most of the time there’s no tears but he sounds like he’s being tortured and it makes me feel horrible but I literally can’t get anything done unless he’s on my hip and it’s sooooo tiring so fast to carry him like that and take care of my other two 😩
@_sheriee, no he’s not mine. He’s my cousins (by marriage) grandson. When I had him in the high chair he was right next to me so that way I could hand him things and such as needed but he doesn’t like to sit long so it didn’t last lol
@kambam, that’s what I ended up doing was sitting with him lol
He may be at that age where he has a little separation anxiety from his mommy. My daughter is just getting to be like this when other people watch her. As long as you are around him/in the room with him and he’s safe, he may just have to cry a little bit.
I do cio at a certain age but not with other people’s kids if your just watching him during the day he is probably missing his mom/dad and being in his own home/space mine get super cranky and irritable when we go to our in-laws or someone else house and my 9 month old screams the whole time unless I myself am holding him he could be having anxiety too
So he’s not your child right? He’s probably just missing his mommy and needs the extra cuddles. Put him in the kitchen right next to you in the high chair. Maybe put some baby videos for him
Can you take him on a quick walk outside? Maybe even just sit with him for a bit before you try to do stuff again
@laniejay, I tried I had him in the high chair and he was okay for a few minutes especially while he had snacks but he got tired of that too so I carried a few minutes and put him in the play pen. I’m usually pretty anti-CIO cause I feel so bad but idk what else to do
If you’re in the room, you’re talking to him, he can see you- it’s not CIO. Maybe try a different baby carrier? There’s usually babywearing groups with lending libraries so you can try them out first and see if you like them.
@kambam, his mom brought me a carrier but he’s not exactly comfortable in it that’s what I had him in this morning. And he honestly doesn’t like anything I’ve tried the mat the play pen the Boucher the high chair and even just a pallet on the floor with some toys so he could roll around and be a little more free but nope still crying until I pick him back up 😭
Can you put him in the kitchen? I am anti CIO of any amount of time
Can you wear him in a sling? Try to mix it up maybe put a playmat down and some toys then back in the pen.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
This girl sent me videos on snapchat of her and my boyfriend having sex and he’s lying to everyone trying to make me seem crazy but I see his entire face in the video. The girl is saying she is pregnant by him and he’s lying saying “it’s someone that looks like me it’s not me in the video” I’m just so tired of him taking me for a joke. I have to go through this and our son is due January 1st he’s yelling at me for crying honestly I don’t even want him in the room when I have my son I can’t even ...
Legal rights?
Long story short, my husband has recently brought our house, his parents Owned it but he’s now taken out a mortgage and it’s now officially his. I’m not on the mortgage but I’m down as living there. I just wanna know if anything went wrong (touch wood it doesn’t) do I have any rights to half the house? He keeps on oh we own a house now ect but I’m like no you do I don’t :(
Honestly right now I do not want my ex in the room when I have my son but he is begging my mom and she said that I should allow him because he’s still the father and deserves to be there for his son. But I don’t know I need to decide soon before he’s born.
So, our downstairs neighbors have been banging on the ceiling every time our son walks. It scares him every time because it’s loud and he can feel it. I’m about over it. He’s TWO. He’s learning how to walk quietly but it’s hard for him. After about the 10th bang, I usually just put him in his high chair or his room. But I shouldn’t have to trap my kid in his own house bc of rude grown adults.
@chelseaz, my daughter went through it too about 6-7 months she wanted nothing to do with anyone other than me even her daddy wasn’t good enough for her lol any time he’s on my hip or I’m sitting and holding him he’s the happiest baby but the moment I have to sit him down and do something he loses it 😭 I always keep him in the same room as me cause as much as I love my toddlers they try to “help” and give him things and try to play with him but they don’t understand yet that he can’t have some stuff and the have to be gentle with him cause he’s still a baby so I like to make sure I can have eyes on him at all times lol I just feel so horrible when he starts crying and I can’t immediately get him
