Sorry ladies, I just feel like a rant lol 🤷🏽 & I don't really post on here 🙈.
Do any of you mums feel you have been judged, criticised or mum shamed over how you do motherhood? Or feel like other mums are so competitive or think they're know it all's?
You can't please alot of people, thats just how I see it and it seems there's always something somebody feels to criticise a mum over.
Whether it's you're too young a mum, too old a mum.. judged for being a single mum, or un-married mum.. having too many kids or only having 1 child? Kids with different dads.. judged for being a bottle feeding only mum, or snobbed because you breastfeed in public or the baby is over 1.. judged for being a no career mum or a stay at home mum, or a full time working mum.. a c-section mum or epidural mum.. judged if you're not coping as a mum, or on a lower income trying to get by.. not being a yummy mummy or being an over glamourous mum.. or if you're not an organic vegan mum etc etc.. seriously the list goes on & on!
I've learnt this just hearing how women judge and compete with eachother over motherhood and its so sad and exhausting to watch. I try to keep out of it personally, it hurts my head and a time waste lol,
I admit there are times I think to myself that's not how I would choose to do something as a mum but it's not my business to criticise and I would never try to make someone feel bad about a choice they make. Also if I wanted to give someone advice I would try to do it without sounding patronising or putting myself on a pedalstool. As long as the baby/ kids are safe, looked after and loved that's what matters,
Sorry just saying 🙂
Those that makes those kind of remarks usually have no idea. They often have no children or one and think they know it all lol. I actually feel sorry for close minded people. Must be such a hard life worrying about how everyone else is raising their kids rather than just enjoying their own.
Who cares how Mary next door is feeding her kids, breast or bottle. Ready meals or home made. As long as there being cared and loved. Doesn't affect me or my life... The trouble is. People care too much what others think. We need to be more confident in ourselves and think sod what anyone else thinks.
Yes so true. I feel for those mums who aren't that confident to not give a sh*t and don't have the courage to speak up to people's remarks.
I posted the other day that having my little boy was my greatest achievement and one of our “friends” gossiped that it wasn’t an achievement because it was by c section! This coming from someone who doesn’t have kids. 😩
@mamma_kins, worse thing is it was a guy who said it 😐. Xx
@stefi89 He needs to imagine a lemon coming out of his nose, I was going to say something rude but held back lol.
The best way to go about it is to not give a crap about what people think. No one can shame you unless you let them. Like you say you can't win. Work, stay at home. Young mum, older mum etc. Someone's always got an opinion. I couldn't give 2 hoots if someone didn't like the way I do things. We do what works for us and that's all that matters 😊👍
Yeah I don't let it get to me, I just say you do what works for you and your baby and I'll do the same.. but I've spoken to couple mums where it's upset them. Things like that can catch you on a crap day and make you feel even worse. I was talking to a young mum other day who said she always feels judged for being a teen mum and I told her trust me most mums are judged or feel competed against my others for one thing or another, ppl need to kind their own.
A lot of the mums at my daughters primary don’t talk to me because I wear makeup and do my hair in the morning, it’s my decision to make myself half decent I won’t ever step out the house without makeup on as I don’t feel confident enough but they all think I wake up hours before my kids purposely to get ready whilst the kids have breakfast I get ready! Makes me feel so anxious every time I take an pick my daughter up because of some of them took there time to speak to me they would realise I’m not who they portray me to be! It’s awful that other women make someone feel so shitty when I do the same routine as them! X
Hmm.. they probably feel abit intimidated lol, it's nice some actually talked to you and saw there's more to you than making yourself look nice. I'm an eye makeup and lipgloss only person really but I can't be asked half the time. When I do put on make-up though it does make me feel a little nicer 😊
@mamma_kins, I’m not caked in makeup it’s literally my eyebrows mascara foundation and I’m done, I’m also a young mum so that adds fuel to the fire anyway😂
So true, nothing you ever do will ever please all. There will always be someone bringing you down or make you negotiate whether your doing the right thing. For me as long as the children are happy and safe, I don't give a fudge cake if I'm doing it wrong or doing it right aslong as I see fit and wise for my own.. I'm happy an there happy ❤️
Couldn’t have said it better myself!!! X
How many mums under the age of 25? do you feel under a lot of pressure to prove you're just as capable as older mums? I am constantly getting judged and people saying I should have waited -.-
What do YOU judge
Clearly, no one is a perfect parent nor do we know everything. But what’s something you judge a parent off of or just irks you?
Honest opinions.
How do you feel about immigrants? All races, not just Mexicans. Does racism play a factor in how you feel?
How many days do you have left ?!?
How many days until you're done work- if you're still working ?!
How did you find out?
Ok so I want to know how everyone found out you were pregnant! Were you trying, was it morning sickness or did you just have a feeling?
Everyone has an opinion and 99% of them stink 🤭
