UPDATE:

Around 8 am I walked Emilia to her potty bc I was sensing it was time for her to poop... she sat down and got up after like 2 minutes of sitting, she stood up and pooped on the floor and then peed on the floor but this was mostly my fault bc I was using the bathroom and didnt ask her to sit longer or keep her on the potty longer....

So after our lunch Rn we walked to the bathroom and she sat without a problem, this time I gave her a little book to look at. Immediately she went poop and im just wondering, if I keep this up will it become natural for her to go to the bathroom when that feeling comes or am I supposed to wait for her to give me signals to go to the bathroom? As of now im going based off the times she poops but idk about pee?

She will eventually learn what it feels like when she has to go and be able to tell you, but unfortunately she is still way too young. You can keep doing what you’re doing but expect accidents and possibly a regression at some point, especially when she gets closer to 2. It doesn’t hurt to try but if it ends up being way too much work for you then maybe give it a break and try again in a few months. I wasn’t able to even think about potty training that young because my daughter couldn’t sit still for more than 1 second.

Yeah I was thinking of waiting and leaving it for when she’s a little older but she tries taking her diaper off constantly and points/grabs her butt before she poops so Ppl have been telling me to try it out (and so far so good she’s been going poo in the toilet) but I do feel like she’s too young bc she’s not really able to tell me when she has to pee :/ mostly just poop

Thank you! They all start at their own time 💓 Emilia showed interest in going on her own so I started and I’m feeling good about this! I’ll keep it going and see how it plays out 🤧

I would love to know what everyone else thinks. So my mother in law came over today completely unannounced and when I went to get the door she handed me my daughter's sippy cup that I accidentally left over at her house on Sunday. Her house is 30 minutes from mine so that's quite a drive just to give me back a sippy cup when my daughter has a lot of those but anyway, I told her she could step inside because she was just talking to me and it was really hot outside so she stepped in the house and talked some more and out of the blue she told me she was going to my bathroom. She went walking that way to the bathroom so fast that I didn't even get a chance to tell her it may be messy (wasn't expecting company) she was there maybe 10 seconds. I heard the toilet flush and she came walking out real fast. She didn't even wash her hands. They were dry when she came out. I know she didn't go in there to go to the bathroom! No way! Every time she comes over she has to use the bathroom. EVERY TIME! just so everyone knows me and my husband and renting from her. She bought us the house and we're paying her back. Why would she go into the bathroom every time she comes over? It's so weird! It's not like her visits are real long and when we're at her house I've never noticed her going up the stairs to use her bathroom when we're there all day! Anyone know??? I need thoughts.
