So our lease is up a few weeks after our baby girl is born! I’m tired of living in my childhood town my bf works on a rig two states over and I’m thinking about moving to the next state. It is 3 hours from his job site and 3 hours from my family.. My concern is not having anyone I think we could do it but I’m scared anyone have any positive experience or things they found challenging moving away from all family/friends?

We moved away from all our family last year. There are days that are hard, running errands without a screaming toddler or just a hour break would be nice occasionally but our move was what was best for our family. Do what is best for you and it will all work out.

3 hours really isn’t that far, you could do weekend visits if you get homesick.

You can do it. It will be overwhelming at first but think your gonna do fine.! Our lease is up the beginning of next month and we’re planning on moving three hours away from our family we’re ready we’ll visit ever so often but change is good 😊😊

So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that

Anyone ever moved to a new state with your family? My husband is desperately wanting to move across the country. We have no family there and currently are very close to both our parents. Moving would mean leaving that support system behind. I also just started a new job that I really enjoy and am wanting to get more experience before relocating. Just looking for advice on how to talk to my husband. And also to see if anyone else has moved away from family when their kids were little and how it all worked out. #myfirstpost
