Hey mommas! My son is a little over 2 weeks and I breastfeed/bottle feed. When he eats he eats so fast. Any advice on how to slow them down eating. It’s not too bad when I breastfeed but when he has a bottle he drinks 2.5 ounces in less than 10 min sometimes quicker. I have newborn nipples that he uses as well.

What kind of bottle brand do you have?

glad to help! I had my mom and MIL learn about paced feeding when my son was using a bottle. We also used a size zero nipple for a really long time.

When I bottled fed, I got a nipple that was small so the milk didn’t come out so fast and would make it a longer feeding. Helped a lot with spit up too

Doing an elevated side-lying position for baby would probably help. Bottles drip into the babies mouth without them sucking, so he may be getting too much at once. By holding him this way, it keeps the bottle from dripping, and only gives him milk when he’s sucking.
