Voting IS Making a Statement! I decided to make that statement a little louder today (no, I didn’t carry my piece to the polls with me either)!

This is me, head to toe. A southern woman who carry’s a gun, has 3 kids, is happily married, has many tattoos, who loves to hunt, who advocates for victims/survivors, women, children, the disabled, and all other minorities, who fears God, who believes everyone has the right to be who they are and to love who they want, who comes from a family of amazing police officers, who has a Masters degree in IT and has been in the field with a wonderful career for 14 years now, who fully supports legal immigration into this country and refuses to be afraid of people who don’t look like me, who didn’t vote for Hillary or Obama but voted for Trump and has since determined that he is not doing the job I hired him to do and I can’t stand his mysogynistic, racist, hateful, bigoted ass, and who’s not afraid to stand up for what’s right.

To the moron who decided to call me a Feminist a few weeks ago as if it’s a derogatory word and would hurt my feelings - thank you, I proudly accept that title.

The definition of a Feminist is a person who supports Feminism. The definition of Feminism is the advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. So for those that can’t understand English, let me help you out - you don’t have to be a woman who wears pink hats or strange costumes while protesting to be a Feminist. In fact, most feminists don’t look like that. Sorry, but that’s reality. You also don’t even have to be a woman to be a feminist!

Anyone who stands up for (makes their voice heard in some fashion) the fact that women deserve the same equality as men - is a Feminist; whether they use that “label” or not. FYI I AM DAMN PROUD TO BE CALLED A FEMINIST! As long as women are still not treated equally to men in this country, I will always proudly carry this label. I will show my daughter and my granddaughters as well as my sons that it’s ok to stand up for what is right!

Lord knows there is nothing perfect about me. I am flawed in MANY ways and I don’t seem to fit neatly into any of “society’s norms”, which I am absolutely fine with. I have learned to think for myself, do my own research, and make my own decisions. I don’t have to be who my friends are in order to be happy. They won’t be there to pick up any pieces when things fall apart, that’s just not how it works. My immediate family is what matters most in all of my decisions.

Things may not turn out as I hope, but at least I can proudly say that I DIDN’T STAND AROUND AND DO NOTHING TO TRY AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

THIS. IS. WHAT. I. MEAN!! As a woman that is NOT from America; I always applaud women like you for standing up for what the world needs! WOMEN ARE THE BOND OF THIS WORLD; WE CARRY AND NURTURE BOYS THAT TURN INTO MEN. Why can we not have the same rights and privileges men have?

Nowadays; modern "feminists" are a joke to REAL FEMINIST and the women BEFORE US. Being a feminist is NOT HATING ON MEN or DOWNPLAYING OTHER RACES AND GENDERS, BEING A FEMINIST IS UPLIFTING EVERYONE AND FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN NO MATTER WHAT RACE OR IDENTITY THEY FALL UNDER.
