Did they start doing internal exams at 36 or 37 weeks for you? I kind of want them to check because I've been getting…

Every doctor is different for sure. Some start at 36 and others even 35, and then some don’t do it at all.

My OBGYN will ask me if I want to be checked when I hit 35-36. I usually opt out of it because with my youngest he checked me that day and NOTNING no progress 6 hours later I was in labour. With my middle I was 3 cm for 4 weeks..so I found it wasn’t really helpful if that makes sense?

My doctor offered cervical checks at 36 weeks and on. I refused after the first one. It’s painful and unnecessary. Also it can stress new moms out thinking they’ll go into labor soon if they’re 3cm at 36weeks. It doesn’t indicate you’ll go into labor anytime soon. I was high risk with my first and was checking me early on. I was 3cm from 32 weeks until I was induced at 39 weeks.

As for group b strep they usually test at 35 weeks. F you go into labor before they test they usually give you the antibiotics anyway to be safe.

The last months are painful. The lightning crotch and round ligament pains are awful.

@thisisfeeney this pain has been pretty rough! But recently its been like a centered pain in one spot so it's really strange to me! I got checked at 32 weeks when I was in the er for when I thought my water was leaking and it wasnt that bad but I just got fingered to say so idk if they check a different way

My dr only starts checks at 39 weeks unless they are going group b strep or you ask starting at 38

I got checked at 36 weeks but I had the pain meant nothing its just a part of pregnancy atleast for me.. I thought I was dialating from it but went to the doctors a week later and didn't change in dilation
