Hi momma's, did you guys have lower self esteem after becoming a mother? 😞
Yes I think it’s hard not to have a change in self esteem after giving birth. All the changes put bodies do through do a number on us. What I found helps is to do something for myself. If it’s getting my hair done or getting a mani/pedi occasionally helps a lot
Yes. It’s totally normal. I struggled with not liking myself for a good 3 years after my youngest daughter. After a while, I said enough is enough. I started working out, eating healthy and felt a bit better about my body. But I still had stretch marks and extra skin on my stomach that made me feel bad. Specially during summer when we vacationed and there was all these older women with perfect bikini body’s. So I went and got a tummy tuck and threw in a boob job. No regrets.
Honestly I had problems with self esteem before children but having them and all the body changes have only made it worse.
You're not alone! My self confidence has gone out the window since baby. I'm fighting raccoon eyes with makeup, dead mom hair in bun, and postpartum body. And the sleep deprivation on top of it as icing on the feeling like crap cake. So yeah, definitely taking a hit on the old self confidence for sure!
@rndmshtt, that s exactly how i feel too lol how crazy we feel the same things.
@kiki221, Such a sad truth. But, i always think of it this way, if i try and “ fix “ something im just going to find another issue i’ll obsess about 😖 its like a never ending cycle 😅
i suppose thats where the hair and makeup comes in. it is a temporary fix that boosts self confidence.
@rndmshtt, omg that's how i feel some days. Like I consider doing all that yet I'm scared of not liking it at the end either 😭😭
My body changing definitely did a bit of damage to my self esteem. After giving birth, i went crazy with lash extentions, shopping, got my hair done. 7 months later after spending a couple thousand on just materialistic things i had started to realize that all of this was because of how i felt so insecure about myself. I had started to consider plastic surgery, laser treatments, looked into botox and fillers😭 I stopped everything and am now learning to accept the new body, that had brought my beautiful daughter into the world.
Mostly because of my body. I lost 12lbs and felt better, but after this baby i want to get more into shape , and lost like 20+ pounds and be really skinny like I used to
@alyssa99, omg Ive been feeling so low lately, feels like idk who I am 😭
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Almost lost my s*** on this rude lady...
My son threw a horrid tantrum at Target; it started in the bathroom. He was yelling and hitting me, screaming he had to potty even though he had literally just gone. After 10 minutes of him hitting me, screaming, kicking, and rolling on the floor, I yanked his pants up and had to get our quick trip done. He was kicking me and pulling my hair, so I just held onto him and whispered and tried to calm him. He's never done this before. It took 5 minutes to ...

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...
