I really need to vent...please no bashing comments. Right now, I'm in a bit of a predicament, my family, which is my only babysitting/transportation system is going out of town for the weekend. Therefore, I had scheduled two weeks in advance that I cannot work on any of those days this weekend. Then after I thought I had every thing completely figured out, the new manager calls me and tells me she still needs me this Saturday. But yet i have no sitter, or transportation for that matter. Then if this can't be bad enough, she offers to get her 16 year old daughter for me to watch them. So me, of course, put on the spot...was like well I will need to meet her before I say okay to that. Being that today is Friday, and tomorrow's Saturday, would I be wrong to say I still can't work tomorrow? Im just a little annoyed, and appearently the schedule book went missing. So now every one that needed certain days off for my baby shower and such are not getting them. I'm so stressed out. Also 35 weeks pregnant, and I'm tired and worn out...

Children come first. And if you don’t feel comfortable with someone watching your child then don’t do it. I’d personally rather lose my job and get fired than let someone watch my kid that I don’t know or trust.

I’d never let anyone’s 16 year old watch my children definitely not a stranger at that.

Umm no you have 2 young children how do you know that this 16yr old will be able to handle your babies ?? A whole stranger to them at that and also a kid . Sorry I’d have to say NO !! I’d feel bad but I’m not taking no chances of no kid that I don’t know shit about not how she is with small children watching my babies unattended!! You put in for those days before time so that’s her fought she hasn’t worked it out !!

I wouldn’t even entertain letting that child watch my children. You asked for the time off two weeks in advance, and it isn’t your fault that the schedule book was lost. It’s also insane that a store has a scheduling book versus online scheduling, but that’s a whole different ball of wax. They will survive without you.

You shouldn’t feel bad telling her you can’t work. You requested off in advance. Personally, I think her offering her 16 year old to watch your two young children is highly unprofessional. That’s just me.
