My first started sitting on the potty before bath at 12 months and fully daytime trained at 18 months.
Second started sitting on the potty at 6 months and I haven’t put the effort into the 3 day method to get her fully trained. However, she can pee on command and doc believes she will be fully trained by 2.
We keep it light. Plenty of bribes. I don’t punish or shame for a unsuccessful trip to the potty. I take her when she says she needs to go (except for the 5th time before bed because she doesn’t want to go into the crib).
Same as @forever_outnumbered . I started pushing the potty training before she was ready, and she'll be 3 in December and is just now starting to go voluntarily to the toilet. You can lead into it by taking your child into the bathroom with you and talking about it, but it really don't do any good until they are mobile and ready to do it.
@leahsmyworld, if you try to start too early it could actually have the opposite effect. I know because that’s the mistake I made with my first and he ended up not being potty trained until 3 1/2.
@pamelawife134 I think she will be ready fast. She just needs motivation. If I explain what it is and what to do she catches on to things fast so by 2 she should be there
