8 week old baby sleeping 5 hours at night is this ok? Should he be sleeping more?
@sms123 I honestly don't remember anymore! Lol At 3m he slept 10 hours straight for the first time, which was very unusual but boy was I pleased! Day naps were definitely more frequent and probably shorter. So it sounds similar to your little man's schedule.
Yeah .. just gotta get used to it now and be thankful for the sleep you do get.
When my daughter was his age, she woke often and I barely slept. I can't complain about his sleep habits after the trouble she gave. Hah
@tlistboom, sounds like my baby..I guess I have to get used to waking up a bit earlier now. When he was younger he would sleep more often and wake up more often too but maybe because he has longer stretches at night he’s not so sleepy after 7 AM
My son will sleep from 1130pm to some time after 4am .. eat then sleep until 6ish ... eat then sleep until 830ish .. shorts naps after that except afternoon will be from 3pm to 5 or 530pm.
It all depends what's happening in their lil world really .. IE growth spurts, daytime events .. etc.
@leowifey, I hope so. Did your baby sleep short naps through the day? My baby sleeps the 5 hours, wakes around 4-5am. Feeds and goes back to sleep but not for very long. Then his naps from 11am on are about 40 minutes. How was your baby?
@sms123 My experience is much like yours - my son was (and still is) a really good sleeper. But parents have informed me that their kiddo's weren't sleeping through the night even after 1y.o.! I would die. But having a consistent sleep routine I think was key. You're definitely on the right track! Hopefully those sleep stretches only get longer for you!
@leowifey, really? I’m thinking it’s not good
Lol. Ya he sleeps 5 hours at night all together then I put him back down after 5am and from there he only sleeps 1-2 hours. That’s when it starts becoming short. Just wishing he’d sleep 7-8 hours but I guess I can’t complain huh lol
5 hr total? Or a 5hr stretch? At 8w, babies will need much more than 5hr overnight. But if you're getting a 5hr stretch of sleep out of an 8w old then count your blessings because that is incredible!😊

Babygirl knocked out sleep
Co sleeping...yay or nay? Lately Molly hasn't want to sleep in her crib and sleep with us. Which is fine but we do want her to sleep in her crib
shut the door?
does anyone shut their child's door while they sleep? (if they sleep in their own room)
@leowifey, my baby still isn’t at the 10 hour mark but hopefully by 3 months.
