I just had my last ultrasound and they said the baby is measuring at 34 weeks instead of 33 weeks but they wasn’t changing my due date. Can that’s be accurate because it means I got pregnant before my last period 🤨
@brittney.arp11, It doesn’t mean your due date should change or that you will deliver earlier. A majority of babies measure ahead in the end end of pregnancy.
My son measured 3 weeks ahead because he was over 9 pounds and he didn’t come three weeks early, nor did they change my csection date.
Many of my patients measure ahead, generally they only deliver early if its IUGR. It really has nothing to do with your conception or due date, because it’s simply your babies size not gestational age.
I can let you know if I go into labor before it probably means new measurements are right...
Same thing happened to me and they even scheduled my c section for the old due date and if the u/s is right I won't make it that far :/ I'm meausring at due date 11/16 and they are using 11/24...
Size doesn’t change your conception or due date at this stage of gestation, and that’s why they would have told you they weren’t adjusting your EDD. Sometimes babies measure larger then the norm further on it pregnancy. My son measured 3 weeks ahead in the end he was just large 🙊
They said to me all babies grow at the same rate up until 12 weeks which is why they set your due date before then. After that point the growth of the baby is down to genetics and factors outside of when the baby was conceived. That’s why they won’t have changed your due date as, although the baby is measuring big, developmentally it will be at 33 weeks gestation
