Has anyone breast fed in th morning and at night feedings and bottle feed their little one during day? Never heard of formula and breast fed babies! Just was curious, thus was something I wanted to do with my little one when I went back to work! Is it safe for the boobies :P and of coarse the baby!? Do I eventually wean to get to this point of first and last feedings?

I did. I formula fed during the days and at night/early morning I breast food. Eventually he stopped waking up in the middle of the night so then he just switched to formula.

I BF with my son in the early morning and all through the night until he was about 5 months then switched straight formula.
I now do 50% bf night feedings with my daughter & formula the rest of the time since I'm not producing much this time around.

My daughter gets half breastmilk and half formula. She does fine with it.

My 1st was supplemented. The only down fall is if you dont pump the missed feedings then your supply will lower. So once you feed only at night and in the mornings your supply will drop drastically. Also if you just all of a sudden stop feeding during the day you can become engorged and get mastitis.

@fourkidsandababy what if you do it over time and wean to where you iust feed them night and morning? Will you get mastitis then?

@jane.austen64 well I mean at any point its possible but if you slowly transition it it's less likely to happen.
