Как устроить ребенка в детский сад до сентября?

I’m not sure about 3 year olds but my 2 year old has to wait until the term after her 2nd bday to be able to get the free hours, so might be the same? Also you could do less than 5 days a week, which would be more than 3 hours a day. So if you did 2 and a half days could be 6 hours for 2 days and 3 hours for one day xx

I did this with my son. I would literally drop him off and by the time I got home I would have 10 minutes before I would have to leave to pick him up. It was a pain in the arse for me but he really benefitted from being at nursery. My daughter is 3 in January and she doesn’t get her 15 hours till May as it’s the term after her birthday. Some nurseries only do a September and January intake as they don’t feel children benefit from one term before the summer break.

@emily.m yeah they say he has an awkward birthday because it's just before the January intake so do I just wait or what do I do

@kayteamay yeah I plan on doing an online course that I wanna do while he is at nursery gives me time to get mjy work done so I need somewhere close but uts just a long time for him to wait isn't it?

That’s beacause the schools ur applying might only have September intake after that one

They may not have space or they may just not take funded only children. My Mum didn't work none if us went to nursery until 3 like most other children. It's nice if you get offered a place but it's not a necessity. I would get his name down on some waiting lists for next year. It may seem early but places do get filled! Mine go to nursery because I work. If I wasn't I wouldn't put them in until they got their 15hrs at a local nursery. Couldn't be bothered travelling to a further away nursery either lol.

Or you could pay until you get the funded. Depends how much you want him in or can afford before his funded hours.

Some preschools and nurseries will only take on children for the academic year before they start primary school.

Bethany started one back in January but we switched her to a different one in September (who only do a once a year intake), as the previous one were not offering afternoon sessions and we have more wrap around care options.

Both are linked to primary schools as well.

Exactly the same with my daughter she’s three in feb but are saying they won’t take her on until September. It’s such a pain in literally begging them to take her on seen as well the nursery doesn’t have that many children in the morning sessions and my son is also in reception at that school x

@sara-lou86 yeah my plan is to do my online course that I wanna do when he gose to nursery so I can get back into work. But I'm just confused because they get their free hours in April but he cabt start untill September 5 moths of wasted free childcare if you see it that way haha I'm just confused I've put his name done for a few for September so I guess if be gets a place we will just have to wait untill then

Thats because you don't get the funding until the term after their birthday. Because his Birthday is in April they probably don't have new starters start just before Summer. So the next term would be the September.

Same applies though. Term after that is summer and they probably don't take new starters then.

@sophie-mariie, they’ve told me to ring them as soon as she turns three and they will let me know if they have any spaces to put her in x
