Anyone ever been summoned for jury duty at a district court? I’m just wondering what to expect. For some reason in the past 5 years I have been chosen once a year for our local county court, done the questionnaire and never had to go due to not being chosen or the case was resolved. But last week I got summoned to be a juror on a district court which is in a bigger city and hour drive away from me.

I think you have to call the weekend or day before the summons and see if they need you(?) also it depends on the case you’re on to know how long it’ll take.
Hard to know what to expect.
If you get chosen you can always find a way to be a liability when they do the question of the jurors.
They also compensate and pay you for your travel, gas and time.

Say you can't do it like what was said above your breast feeding the baby won't take a bottle you don't have a babysitter also. Write them a letter and call and let them know and you should be dismissed. I've only ever been summoned once and it was the week my daughter was born so I couldn't go I told them that I had just had a baby a few days ago by C-section and they dismissed me

I had to fill out multiple papers more than I have any other time. And they said I have to call the night before to see if I have to go in to be interviewed. Case is expected to last 2 weeks. I put I have small children at home. Hopefully I don’t get chose.
