Emilia so far is learning Spanish, English, Portuguese and American Sign Language (basic ones for babies like hungry, milk, dirty diaper etc) my old coworker commented on one of my videos saying that I’m doing harm to Lia bc she’s gonna get confused and won’t learn how to talk properly. Emilia seems to understand for the most part in any language we speak to her..I’ve never heard that different languages is bad for their development?
It does keep some children from talking as early but for the most part there isn't harm. My sister and brother were bilingual from the beginning.
My nephew was taught sign language in daycare. Actually caught on to it before he started talking.
@_moodyblu_, Haha thats my daughter. She caaan taaalk but theyre all babbles, with a couple words here and there 😂
@rndmshtt, that’s quite interesting! Emilia seems to understand so far but again she doesn’t talk much just babbles so it’s hard to tell yet.
I don’t see any harm in it. A friend of mine, her kids understands some Ukraine and Bulgarian but speaks Russian and English. &’ They are 3 years &’ 4 years old.
Although i know my MIL had issues with my brother in law because he got confused between English and Illocano. So she decided to not teach the rest of her kids their native language.
I personally know 3 ( filipino languages ) and learned English in school because it was required when i lived back in my country.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
I spoke Ukrainian Russian and english since i learned to talk. It wasnt hard. As kids we pick things up like sponges. Athena is spoken to in russian and Ukrainian by my family and understands them just as easily as she does the english daddy and i speak to her most of the time. Teaching your child a different language will only expand their mental capacity. Its better for her development there are actual studies done on these things. The more she develops her brain the better. Theres a huge reason why elderly start picking up a new language when they retire and arent working anymore, it helps their brain continue forming new neurons and not stagnate. So unless that person is a fucking scholar or doctor they can sit down and worry about themselves and not what you do with your child.
