It's actually better to introduce them to foods that can cause allergies at a younger age because their immune systems are less likely to have a reaction.

@unicorn_mama, I didn’t know that lol I was alway scared to give my boys peanuts my oldest didn’t have them til he was almost 3 and my youngest son til yesterday and he’s almost 2.. she seems to be fine though

@mommy_x3, awesome! They also say you can introduce nuts before 1 now if you want. I waited til 1 just in case because I have food allergies myself. But I’m sure everything will be just fine!!

Sometimes. I have a nut allergy. My daughter doesn’t seem to. But either way, water is always a good idea. A lot of the reaction from nuts causes dry itchy throat which can cause the irritation that leads to the swelling. I find that when I drink water with nuts, I have a less severe reaction. And yes I eat nuts even though I’m allergic.

If she has a severe allergic reaction. You would notice right away. You would have needed to call 911. I have a little cousin who’s throat closes up without even having to digest any peanut butter 😖

If she has a mild one, rashes around her mouth. or it could also spread. With my nephew his mouth gets itchy, and then you will see noticeable rashes. Usually benedryl does the trick. Thankfully we have not had to use an epi pen on him.
