Anyone have any experience with the medication Nifedipine to stop labor contractions? I was recently admitted to the hospital for contractions 1-2 apart and I was dilated to a 3. They gave me two shots in the arm and fluid and nothing worked. They decided to start me on mag treatment for me and baby and then gave me steroid shots. Mag didn’t help over a period of 2 days. So far they told me it’s all just a waiting game now and they sent me home with this medication. I really want my baby to stay in a lot longer and I was wondering if anyone else has used this and if it kept labor away for a while? Online it says it only helps with contractions for 2-7 days and I’m freaking out lol.

Worked for me at 21 and 32 weeks. I delivered at 37. Hope it works for you.
@cams, yes it’s called procardia as well. That’s good to hear! I hope I don’t have to be induced but I would rather my baby come later than early :)
Is this also called procardia? I took that from 28-36w. I was induced at 39w.
Worked for me at 32 weeks. Went 3 days over my due date
Vaginal labor is so easy I would rather take the contractions any day than to have to have a c section
I guess everyone is different with different pain tolerance because my recovery for my c section was a breeze I never filled the medications they gave me and was walking down to the NICU to see my son the next day

FTM here ‼️ 5 days until my scheduled induction!! 40 weeks 2 days & I have yet to experience a real contraction?!
Should I be worried about not being able to give birth naturally at my induction because my body seems to not have geared up for labor ?
My membrane sweep only gave me some cramps and helped me lose some of my mucus plug. Sex, walking, yoga ball, nothing seems to bring on true labor🙁
@buntaine, hopefully not! I had highish BP so they decided to induce. Not fun. Good luck!
