Winter babies. I'm due 2days before Christmas and worried cause of cold and flu season being so bad…

We had a winter baby feb 11 . We only allowed grandparents and aunts for her first few weeks of life . Everyone had to get a flu shot that wasn’t a option . No flu shot you can’t see the baby . Also everyone had to wash there hands . No kisses on the face . If you feel sick obviously don’t come over . We only want out food shopping at 3 weeks bc that’s when my hubby want back to work it was in and out

M son was born December 21st and I wouldn’t take you’re newborn out either my son was a week old when he got a. bad respiratory infection RSV he had to be hospitalized for two months and quarantine away from other babies , with this baby I had we didn’t go out at all , so from experience I would take extra precaution just in case, with my baby I just had I didn’t let my nephew or niece come over till about six weeks, I didn’t let no one with any sick symptoms come over, and don’t pay attention to the oh it’s “just allergies” lol now that she’s 6 weeks I will take her out little by little but not completely till first shots ..

My baby was born Sept. 16th. I am paranoid and he is a fall baby technically. But hand foot and mouth are terrible right now, RSV is at an all time high, and then the start of flu season. So I am super paranoid and cautious.

Our son went out for the first time 10/19 and even then no one gets to hold him. In the hospital his gparents held him briefly and that is it. Since coming home I won't let anyone other than hubby hold him until after his 2 month vaccines take effect, 12/9 and even then rare due to winter sickness timeframe as well. People are being antsy about it at times but I don't care, I want him to be safe and healthy, they get to see him plenty, just not hold him.

Some hospitals actually do visitor restrictions during flu season. When I had my son in February the hospital would only allow me to have 2 visitors at a time besides my husband and when my kids came to see me they could only stay 30 minutes. Anyone showing any symptoms of being sick weren't allowed in the L&D area.

Last year my baby was born November 1st and we didn’t have any visitors except grandparents and no one at all was allowed to kiss her! When we went out to the grocery store or dr office I kept the car seat covered and didn’t let anyone touch her. If someone did come visit they had to wash their hands before they did hold her. And I have a daughter also born December 13, and same thing. We kept her covered. My baby is almost a year old and never been sick 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes I'm the same way I barley take him out in public I will try to pervent it unless I really need to go to the store or something or me and Dennis (boyfriend) do arens we gotta take him with us

Had my son Christmas Eve he did pretty well no coughs or colds but I didn’t let many people around

It's so hard to protect newborn if you have older kids that go to school and daycare and can bring a lot of viruses from there:(( i am nervous too
