Momms with boys did you circumcise your son as a baby?? My son has his appt on November 1st.
No, like if your finger was dirty, or like when my kids fingers are dirty I wipe them from base to tip of the fingers. That’s how I clean my sons penis. From base to tip. Never pull the skin back and he’s never had an issue
@momtothe3rdpower so i clean it with a finger as an infant is that what you mean?
This one is my favorite site for all intact care info

It’s a pretty complete layout of how to care for him. Just wipe like a finger, from base to tip and don’t retract. He should be the only one to retract his foreskin because he’s the only one to know what hurts. Typically foreskin starts to detach from the head of the penis anywhere from 3 years old to 11 years old, sometimes even older.
@momtothe3rdpower so like when they hit puberty? Is that a good time to instruct him to wash at bathtime
So. Once he is older and explores his body he will pull it back himself. And he’ll stop if it hurts. Once he is able to fully pull his foreskin back, you instruct him to wash it at every bath. All he has to do is pull it back and the water around it will clean it sufficiently.
Oh okay. But will i ever havr to so he dont get infections. Like keeping it clean when he pees or what not? @momtothe3rdpower
The foreskin is attached to the head of the penis in infancy and early childhood. So don’t ever pull it back. Pulling it back could cause tearing of the skin which would then cause infections.
@momtothe3rdpower so how do i prevent of infection as a baby and as he gets older
I didn’t have my first son circumcised and my second won’t be either. The rates of infection are identical in circumcised and intact males when the intact males are cared for properly during childhood. There are 16 functions of the foreskin that are lost to circumcision, not to mention the procedure is extremely painful for the infant.
My son was circumcised the same day he was born while still in the hospital. He was out of the room for less than 10 minutes and when they brought him back in the room he was still in the same mood he was in before he left. He wasn’t crying or fussy at all there was a small amount of blood but never bothered him and took less than a week to heal. Never hurt him or bothered him during the time it was healing.
Circumcised both of our boys when they were newborns before we even left the hospital
@mommie2be26th maybe a few weeks. Its been 3 yrs ago.
@mommie2be26th it does alittle
Juat keep it with alot of vasnile
@mommie2be26th I'm not judging if you do ofcourse it's you and your husbands choice in the matter . Do what you feel . Some people will tell you it's harmless but we are not the one feeling it. Our son is .
To each there own. I did not get my son circumcised.
@momofboth that's true. I was just lost like didn't know what to say or think.
@mommie2be26th yea maybe or maybe not but still wouldn't put my son through it . We could get breast cancer . Does that mean we should all cut off our breast?
@momof3cuties what happens to baby?? Like does he bleed??
I did both of my boys. Just want makes you and the dad happy
@momofboth well they said they get infections.
Nope I feel like I should leave him just as he is born. The way god made him. I don't see it as being neccessary to put my son through that .
