How would you go about talking to somone about them not buckling their child into a carseat correctly? I have a newer parent who drops off her 4 month old daughter every morning in her carseat- she puts the seat down and leaves, so I know it's not being done in the classroom. Every day so far (they've been coming for a week now) the chest clip is done and that's it, no buckle, no harness. At first I didnt say anything because I wasnt sure if she undid the buckle on her way in or something, but this morning I walked in with them and from car to classroom, no one touched the buckles. And yet, sure enough, she's not strapped in properly. The seat isn't missing the buckle or anything, it looks old (pink minnie mouse thing, super ugly) but in good shape, especially for the area I work in. I don't want to scare her, or make her hostile, but I'm worried.
Just tell her. She probably don’t know shes doing it wrong. We don’t sugar coat a child’s safety. She would probably thank you for letting her know.
