Get rid of anything with artificial ingredients. Dyes, fragrance, colors etc. Even for you since you’re holding him.
Bathe only once a week and wipe when necessary. Water only if possible.
Keep the areas dry.
Get an calendula cream and an arnica salve. Alternate both.
If it’s in your budget, swap to a more organic formula. Baby’s Only, HiPP and Holle are most recommended.
My kiddo battled it for some time until we did all of this.

Also try switching laundry soaps to something dye and fragrance free. No softer or dryer sheets.

Vitiman E lotion is another good one for soothing.

Otameal and milk bath will help sooth. Too I'd do them before bed time to help keep him from scratching at night which will cause the redness and scabs. If you need more help let me know. I'm more than willing to help as much as I can it's no fun especially with bad flare ups like this.

@cheyannemg second this is all I use I've had eczema my whole life and when I found this it was like a miracle. That and this but it may not be ok with him so young but definitely something for later on my 2 year old uses it sometimes to be like mommy.
This stuff has worked WONDERS for my daughter’s eczema! Her doc said not to use the hydrocortisone for more than a week because of the steroids in it, so I tried the Eucerin brand eczema cream and the Aveeno eczema cream. Those were alright, but didn’t work as well as the Shea Moisture chamomile lotion does

Poor thing! Heard hydrocortisone shouldn't be used on baby's face since their skin is so much more delicate there. I'd try the coconut oil and Shea butter. Hope it clears up soon. 🙏
It helps relieve the redness. I've cured my daughter's with breasmilk, baby aveeno eczema and coconut oil.
