What @bitchcraft, said. You should have something that tells you what to do if you can’t go. But if you can’t go because of work, work is required to give you time off for jury duty.

@lovely.chay3030, yes they can make you. You can also get an exemption for having children and anything else you may have going on that would prevent you from serving. But they can make you if you don’t take the next step and let them know

Read it and check out the process of not being able to participate. There should be a phone line or steps on how to. Usually they will postpone to a different date once you have given them reasonable excuse.

You can even go online and put your reason why you can’t make it.

I wrote a letter asking to be dismissed. They wanted me to go in April but I was early in my pregnancy and wasn’t sure I would feel up to it plus I already served the year before. I was excused no problem. You can also ask to go at a later date.

Yep, like everyone else said, even if you can’t go, you have to respond to the notice.
