I'm even waiting for ECI to come.out and evaluate autumn so it's not like I'm hiding my kids away or anything crazy lol I just wanted to be honest so she could give me the best help

@red_carr, I don’t think she would. Just because you admit smoking doesn’t mean you were doing it in front of the kids. Or even at your place at all. No proof.

@red_carr CPS, but I thought any information you give your counselor unless it's like REALLY bad stuff, or they see concern it in, it's supposed to be confidential.

Depends if its legal where you live and on the person. I know counselors mostly will share your information if they think you are harming your children or self.. or if they're a big ol douche.

Ill be honest, I always lie about it depending who it’s too. If they ask me again I say “in the past” I don’t specify when. Not worth the mess that comes along with it

@red_carr I had this problem with a doctor when my test came back for it before i even knew i was pregnant years ago and they literally just called cps on me 🙄 that fuckin bitch I was so mad. it qas alot of bullshit harassment for kinths before I told them to fuck off and take me to court it's not like i was still smoking while i was pregnant. some people are assholes. I'm sure they'll just look past it anywho

Since it’s illegal in Texas, it’s possible.

They’d likely just do a home check and a drug test, and as long as everything comes up clean, the case would be closed.

Even if she did, they’d have to prove your household to be unfit. So she can report it to CPS and they mandatory have to start a case. They’ll investigate, could be as short as 30 days if they have no findings.

If your seeking help that would be a big blow. Hopefully she can keep her pansies out of a bunch.

I really hope they don’t because they’d have to prove you’re unfit. At least in my experience they’ll open a CPS case in Texas for next to nothing which can be frustrating. My son was behind a few weeks on his shots because he had pneumonia and a counselor opened a CPS case that lasted 6 months. I think you’re going to be fine though.

I just made a report about something unrelated but on the tx reporting site there are certain individuals that have a legal responsibility to report stuff like that, ikinda think that might include councilors as well as school officials (which I know your daughters are too young for that). But I’m sure it would be an open and shut case especially if you had quit and didn’t around the girls.

From what I’ve seen IF she does report it, they’d come out and do a home check. Request urine samples for a few weeks then as long as everything checks out they’ll most likely just close the case. They have harder drugs and actual abuse to take care of.

It’s totally unnecessary but it’s needed because while you take amazing care of your daughters some people who use weed don’t.

Here probably yes. I actually dealt with this situation before (a neighbor) as long as your home is clean and safe when and if they pop by and you are in counseling you are ok. There’s no evidence of it if they can’t find anything so legally you are ok. But honestly in counseling things don’t really escalate unless you are hurt by yourself or attempt to or show signs of being off or unwell (unfit) your counselor should be able to judge that and ask of progress or relapse. When I was in counseling for pills i was going down a dark road but the counselor never told the police or even my parents. I was able to stop and proceed with life

I feel because you are there to get help she shouldn't. Smoking doesnt make you a bad parent. It's not what you do but how you do it. It's not a problem unless you put whatever it is before your kid.
