WARNING SUPER LONG NOT MOM RELATED POST!!! Just needed to get it off my chest 😭
My grandpa died 3 years ago today...the pain...is still just as strong as it was the moment my dad told me...I’ll never forget that morning. I was homeschooled and it was my senior year, a school day but I woke up to my aunt pounding on our door screaming and crying and my dad jumped out of his chair and his feet maybe touched the ground 3 times before he was out the door. And I just was pacing the living room because no one was telling me anything I thought we just needed an ambulance because we had a situation like that before, but my dad called my aunts(I have 3) that we’re not here and my mom and then he came in..kind of huddled together with me and whispered “grandpa died”. 17 years old and when I heard that I threw a tantrum like toddlers do because I was so mad and sad. I grabbed one of my dads thick 49er blankets that I think my grandpa has the same one or we just had the same one and it was chilly so I wrapped it around me and I stayed wrapped in that blanket all day I didn’t speak except to ask my dad if we could keep my grandpas dog...and if I could stay the night at my aunts house because I didn’t want to be at home. We live right downstairs from his condo so I just couldn’t handle being home. I wasn’t allowed to watch the coroner bring him down because no one wanted me to see him like that even though I could not see him it was just the idea that he was in there. One of my aunts had to go pick up my cousin from school and she told him on the way over and the first thing he did was come up to me gave me a hug and asked me if I was okay. Know what I said? “No” because I wasn’t the thought that my grandpa would no longer be upstairs and he wouldn’t be coming to have dinner with us every night just raced through my head. Everything just was moving so fast I had the sherif and people asking me questions making sure I was okay and I could over hear people telling my family to really watch out for me because of the state of mind I instantly went into. I remember the next time I saw him...he was ready for his funeral in his 49er shirt and pants and it was at his viewing...I’ve never felt something so cold and hard. I’ll never forget what he felt like and all these people that were not family kept showing up and I just wanted to tell them to leave, I did not want them there. I could barely move away from his casket. We had his funeral on Halloween and for good reason, not to be funny but all the younger kids were really young and we wanted them to have something fun to look forward too that day because they didn’t understand and it was hard on my brother and my cousin. The turnout was amazing, standing room only and the pastor from my church spoke. He was even looking out for me because stopped going to church and everyone knew why and every day my grandma would say “we prayed for you today” “we talked about you today” “jack told me to tell you he says hi and hopes your doing good”. I hugged my grandpa for the very last time on October 31st 2015...
I last spoke to him...on October 19th 2015...
We last had dinner with him on October 19th 2015...

Awwww, I'm so sorry. No one talks about the loosing someone. It's super hard. I too lost my only grandpa and I too was in school. It was the hardest thing for me to ever go through. I blamed and still blame the hospital for not helping him more! My grandpa died 1995. It's been so long and sometimes I feel like I'm forgetting him. But I just do what I can to try to hold on to what I can remember. I'm here if you want to talk. It's sad, I wish we didn't have to loose our loved ones! 😭😭😭

@niki664, for as long as we all can remember he said he wanted to die peacefully in his home with his dog with him and that’s exactly what happened...his dog was in his spot on the couch with his head resting in my grandpas arm...we couldn’t get him to come out of the house and when we did he kept wanting to go back upstairs but the coroner told us he had to wait...

@bubbys.mommy Awww, lol. That's a really cute name. And you said was? Is he no long alive?
M. P. ·
@niki664, no he is not. He fell into severe depression and didn’t come out of it after a year and a half. He didn’t want to eat and became very aggressive. He got really really sick and was dying so we had to put him down...he was suffering really bad..

@bubbys.mommy Awww, I'm so sorry. But he just didn't understand and was wondering where his owner was. Well, now your grandpa and Skully are together again. 😊 But I am very sorry. You can always message me. 😊🤗

I’m sorry for your loss. I’ve lost both of my parents, and all 4 of my grandparents. I can remember my parents deaths like they happened yesterday, even though it’s been over 10 years since I lost my mom. I was 12. I remember “saying goodbye” to her in the hospital, thinking “this is when miracles happen”, half expecting her to wake up and be okay.
