How long does breast milk last in the freezer side of the fridge?

@wolfnurturer oh that makes sense. I'm sure that can be frustrating. I am trying to figure out how to organize mine.

@heilwife317 that's smart. Oh wow that's a lot!! I also have to limit myself currently too because we are sharing a space. (unfortunately/fortunately)

@wolfnurturer we only do 1 bottle during the night for daddy bonding time and me to sleep. We just broke past 200oz in the freezer today in 21 days. We feed on demand which is every 2 hrs during the day and every 2-4 at night. The haakaa has created most of our freezer. I mean doing the math pumping only once at night less than half of my milk is from pumping the upper half is from the haakaa throughout the day.

@heilwife317 I have some cups from Medela. I usually pump when I feel the need to pump. I can do about 2-3 times (probably more but I'm not sure why I don't). I usually try to feed as much as possible though since I will be working soon I'm going to miss it. Although I'm only going to be away for like 5 hours or less.

@wolfnurturer do you have a haakaa? I highly recommend it. I only pump the 3-5 a day. The rest of the 18-21 comes from it, and it is pain free, no work. Just suction it to the breast they aren't eating from and let it do it's thing.

@heilwife317 Same here, to be honest I almost cried because it is work to pump.

@wolfnurturer my pediatrician agrees with me on this chart. But focus on the temperature of your unit. My freezer is actually -5 so it counts as a deep freeze as it is a drawer unit below the fridge at a temp below 0.

@heilwife317 Really? I thought two weeks in a normal freezer (can't remember where I read it) and longer in a deep freezer unit??

6 months tops is what they typically say. The big thing to consider is the temperature of the freezer you are putting it in.
