@knockout there are different perspectives on pricing. I don't judge anyone who charges less or more than me because everyone has their own amount fees, bills to pay and their target cliental.

Photographer here too 🙋🏻‍♀️ just my input and trying to catch up to everyone's comments. I totally agree with spookylyn. When I send in proofs the watermarks are forever right by the people's faces. It's stealing no matter what.

There's a reason why they charge what they charge. They put a lot of time in creating those photos and it could be their only income. People get upset and say I charge too much but I charge only $250 because I do it more as a hobby and just extra money. I know photographers who charge more $500-1500 session fee with nothing included.

If ya think about it who in the world survives with just $250 monthly or every 2 weeks.

Also for me to order just 1 8x10 the printing labs minimum is $15.

Knockout as for your reference about make up you can charge more because I also know make up artist who charge way over $200.

@mommin-aint-easy if I charged by the hour then I'd be charging for the time of editing too. I do 1-2 hour sessions and spend a good 2-7 12 hour days on their photos making sure I didn't miss anything and depending on how many photos and what the location is like. So I'm still selling myself short. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Then I stole a lot cause I bout two newborn pictures and snapshot the other 20 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m not rich

Your family is to cute. Idk where you guys live because I can get a 8x10 and 4x6 and wallet for like 150 here. My cousin takes pics so. Never have to actually pay that much unless she’s super busy and I’ve do my kids photos myself.

I literally paid 200$ for an hour session, 2 outfit changes, and a usb with 30 photos , dropped the 30 photos to my Dropbox app, and then sent me an 8x10 of my two favorite pictures. 120$ for 1 single 8x10 is absolutely ridiculous. You’ll make more money if you charge reasonably cause people will want to hire you. This woman is booked 6 months out . Working every single day. Girl beautiful pictures . Let the people talk all they want .

In my opinion and I suppose based on the amount of money that I've made in my life (my station if you will) $120 is definitely too much for one picture. The majority of professional photographers depending on picture quality range from $24 to $76 for 1 8x10 photo. I've always wanted to do photography!!!

@spookylyn yeah that's insane. 😂 Like I've said, I've had pictures done by professional photographers, not someone who just slaps a filter on and NEVER been charged that much for one picture. Idk how you get any business honestly. 🤷

@spookylyn do you mean you charge $120 for a full session or you literally charge $120 for 1 8x10? Because if you do that's an insane price. 😳 I've paid for very good quality pictures and never been charged that much for one single picture. That seems like a rip off.

I would of done the same thing. I think it’s crazy how much private Photographers charge. Last family pics I had done at a studio. Touched up and printed the same day. Multiple poses. I got 1 10x13, multiple 8x10 and multiple 5x7 all different poses all different pictures for $60. I’m all for supporting small businesses until it becomes expensive. Why I shop at Walmart when I can get the same item from a mom and pop for triple the price.

@mommin-aint-easy, that’s smart! Charging my hour makes a lot more sense to me because that’s where all the effort and energy is going (on these anyway) these don’t have any touch ups on them. And yeah I didn’t have to try to hard to get the photos since they just emailed them to me. I can download them on my laptop if I didn’t SS. They pretty much gave them to me. I’m sure they knew that was a possibility anyway.

Cute pics, but also, my self being a photographer I'd be very upset by this! However. I'm smart enough to watermark pictures. So all and all, the photographer did this to herself. I'm sure you aren't the only one who did this! Also, I feel like I'm just giving away pictures! I charge by the hour! 30.00 an hour unlimited poses and pics, the people receive all photos directly to their email or phone.

@olivbee, lol thanks! Same here I have a $500 camera we just do our own. And I told them straight up that we wouldn’t be buying photos. And he still insisted on doing 2 poses and then emailing me all 5 shots. Sorry not sorry 😅low res works fine for me 😂

Nobody watermarks anymore. It’s very outdated. I’m sure “Susie” knows exactly what she’s doing, and I would put money on the fact that she sent you a low quality image so IF you did steal it, it looks like crap 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m a photographer and I see people trying to get around paying and stealing things daily.

@spookylyn, interesting never knew the prices went that crazy. The same company sells 8x10s for $10 through school pictures so I was confused why they sold family photos for $20 extra.

The company got a $5000 check from the church for all the sessions and their time. I SS the photos online so it’s not like I jacked a hard copy. But I’m not denying the theft. They lowered the RES on the photos instead of watermarking. Still not a great idea.

@beakymcspence, totally agree is shady. But it wasn’t a free service. The whole photo session and the “free” 8x10s were paid for. It was around $5000 session that they got paid for. I’m not denying the shady part but it’s not like they didn’t get paid.
