My son is the one we used all of the above suggestions with. He's 3 now. And my daughter is one month old. Luckily she already loves her crib.

@sms123, You're welcome! Also, I just remembered we used a noise machine. And also the Scout and Violet toys have bedtime music that my kids like. I'll link them! Good luck!

@aengs2, absolutely.. I totally understand that what works for your family might not work for mine but it’s good to hear what other people do. My baby still stays in the room with us and his bassinet I could give it a shot and try to put him in his room and see how it goes I’ll probably try it out this afternoon and see how he naps in there. Thank you

We kept it loud and bright during the day. If he napped, then he napped. We didn't try to keep him up because it would just make him upset. But then at night I think the most important thing we did was kept his bedroom curtain open. I really wanted him to be able to distinguish between day and night on his own. And I think it worked! Another big thing was transitioning him to the crib. He slept horribly in our room but once we put him in his crib in his own room he started sleeping through the night instantly. Some babies just like their own space. But of course all babies are different and this is just what worked for us.

@tlistboom, I want to start a schedule but it’s soon because I can’t keep him up longer than 2.5 hours or else he’ll be overtired and it’s harder to put him down. I guess it’s still early

@aegns2 Wow. What did you do? Lol. What time did he sleep from and to?

My 6 week old slept through the night even though he slept during the day too. Every baby is different.

Depends on the child and situation ..
Some may need extra sleep bc of growth spurts or being sick. Some need to adjust schedule bc they don't know the difference of night and day yet. Only you know your little one and the circumstances.

She has 3 kids aged 4.5 years, 2.5 years and 6 months and knows all too well the difficulties of a non-sleeping baby. “My first baby was 11 months old before he slept his first 2 hour stretch (It was a wednesday) and since then I became obsessed with learning about sleep!” Hailee classifies herself as more of a gentle sleep coach and encourages parents to do what works best for their own family. “Always advocate for your family and your baby! After all, you know them best!” She has worked with many families and loves providing tools to help improve sleep for every family she meets. Healthy Sleep equals Happy Families! Hailee’s top 3 sleep tips: 1.) Create a baby cave! The body is cued by light levels and so darkness in the room environment is so important. We want that room to be pitch black if we can. This helps newborns feel at home (in the womb) and it help’s older babies produce sleep hormones. 2.) Use white noise. This is my “must have” in any sleep space. It helps newborns feel at home because it sounds like the womb and it helps older babies to cycle through sleep cycles. Use a constant sound such as static, heavy rainfall or a vacuum. Make sure it does not turn off after a certain interval as we want it to be playing the whole time to help those sleep cycles! 3.) Build strong routines. This is not the same as a schedule. A routine is just the steps you do before putting your baby down to sleep. Each step in that routine triggers the brain to release sleep hormones. Essentially, it acts as your baby’s clock telling the body what time it is… sleep time! Inconsistent sleep routines can lead to inconsistent sleep! Babygirl knocked out sleep
shut the door? does anyone shut their child's door while they sleep? (if they sleep in their own room)
Co sleeping...yay or nay? Lately Molly hasn't want to sleep in her crib and sleep with us. Which is fine but we do want her to sleep in her crib
