I want to try similac sensitive formula it helps with babies who can’t pass gas, but I noticed under nutrition information that it has ash, what does that mean? Any suggestions. My baby is currently on nestle good start probiotic formula but he’s got a hard time passing gas and cries in pain. :(
Yes please do, really crossing my fingers and hope it works just as well for you guys!
@crharmer, will let you know? I have ordered the one you tried. Let’s see. Can’t wait until it ships
@crharmer I can’t believe your son went through 10 different formulas :(
Glad this worked for your little guy!!
Im stuck between the formula you tried and the comfort one, helps colic and constipation .. hmm
I haven't tried that one but it would be worth a shot. The line is really good. Let me know how it works out after you get it!
@crharmer, I’ll order it today.. there’s one that is combiotic comfort and one without .. which would you recommend? Thank you
@sms123 I couldn't find a setting that would have worked with it but to me it's worth adding the powder myself.
It's so hard finding a brand that works for both you and baby. My first son probably switched close to 10 times (not even kidding) before we settled on that one. Every formula I found for him in store just never sit properly.
@crharmer Oh ok awesome I’ll look into it. Now, would it work on baby breeze formula maker,?
@sms123 also I should mention we use the first milk combiotic. It's good from 0-12 months. Only different thing about this formula is its one scoop per oz (smaller scoop). No more typical smelling formula spit up either, lol.
@sms123 no, typically from happytots.ca it ships to my remote northern Ontario town within 4 days of ordering.
@crharmer, I found it on amazon. Do you order it from there ?
It's called hipp organic. I order it online but its originally a German formula. Works amazing for my guy when I'm not breastfeeding (when hes with my husband). No extra gas, no constipation, and back to breast fed baby poops. I used it exclusively with my first.
This formula is so foamy and I found it really made my son so much more gassy. I couldn't use the baby breeza to make it nor put it in a bottle and shake because it would add an extra 2" of foam at the top of the bottle which added to his problems. Some people said to mix it by stirring with a knife but I was so unimpressed with the formula and the wasted money that I switched before I had the chance to see if it made a difference.
Hope your experience is better than mine!
@sms123, yes it’s just the mineral content after the dehydration of the formula
Ash is composed of minerals and because they are elements they will always exist in the exact form as they are. So it is listed.
“In food science and industry ash refers to residue of mineral elements, which are left over after our body completes digestion of food we eat.
Even though ash is not a nutrient as such it can often be seen on nutritional panels on some food products, especially on food for cats and dogs. Ash gives us the picture of total amount of inorganic substances, including trace and major minerals (Calcium, Potassium, Manganese etc.) as well as toxic substances (Lead, Mercury, Cadmium etc.).
To put it simply, ash is inorganic residue leftover when heat is applied and organic components such as water, fat and protein are removed by burning. It helps to determine the mineral make up of the food, nutritional value and quality. Sometimes people may get confused and think that ash is added to the food, but this is not so.
Ash is composed of minerals and because they are elements they will always exist in the exact form as they are. Once our body digests the carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and fats and they burn out physiologically, ash is what is left over, more specifically what is left over are the minerals.”
My baby is a little over a week old & formula fed, he hasn't pooped since Sunday. He's peeing normally and is passing gas just nothing's coming out. What should I do
Can my baby pass gas in my stomach I promise I felt a little poot in my stomach .
did any mommies on here had to switch there babies from formula to soy due to excessive gas,colic and fussiness? !?!
Basically have tried everything you can think of for gas relief in a baby and even switching formulas, I've seen very little improvement. Not sure what else there is to do to help with gas. Any mama's have issues with gas with their infant? If so, what did your pediatrician say or do about it.
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
@crharmer, You’re awesome thank you
