@kilburnanna, I delivered a baby last month who came out flat (not breathing) due to an attempted forced induction with caster oil. To suggest that to someone is absolutely careless, and evident you know nothing about the methods your preaching. That’s not a negative comment it’s called a fact.

Being “over pregnancy” isn’t a reason to induce labour, and it’s what you signed up for. If your doctor felt it was necessary they’d medically induce for reasons that fit the requirements.

Let your baby bake, why trade your discomfort for possible medical issues for your child. Your baby will come when he or she is ready and has 4 weeks of baking left to do ❤️

@spookylyn agreed. My doctor had told me 38 weeks for my induction but when we confirmed baby was a boy she told me 38 1/2 now since "boys take longer for their lungs to develop than girls". Doctor's words.

But EVEN though your being rude, sex, walking, eating fruit, eating spicy foods and dancing could help speed up dilation.

You asked for opinions and we're all just trying to be nice and give you some. I never said you mentioned using castor oil. But a woman on YOUR post mentioned and I was commenting saying castor oil is dangerous.

@andronikiaward first off you can lose the attitude because when I mentioned the castor oil I NEVER SAID YOU MENTIONED IT EITHER. it was to the girl who deleted her comment about using it. It still don't matter, your 36 weeks baby isn't a 100% developed yet. I can comprehend very well.

Eta and at 36 weeks you're not even term so inducing is not a good idea.

@beakymcspence, a more acceptable response would have been what you just stated. Not telling me what I did or did not sign up for. I’m a new mom so forgive me if I did not know dilation really meant nothing and you can only induce labor.

Castor oil is not safe. Plain and simple. Women who choose to use it need to do research. You're only 35 weeks. baby needs to develop more.

There's a laundry list of things our parents and grandparents did that didn't kill their children, doesn't mean it's okay to do now. They didn't know. Know better, do better.

And not once did I say induce labor, I said speed up dilation, in which it is normal to be doing so around this time, some people stay at 1 or 2 cm dilation for several weeks and some people rarely make it to the 40 week mark anyways. Exactly what medical issues would arise from dilating, please share 🙄 I get that baby will come when baby is ready but do not get on my status with your feisty attitude and negative demeanor!

@beakymcspence, honestly castor oil was nasty for me and make me puke, by grandmother induced all 5 of her children with it, and they all cam out perfectly heathy. Stop being self righteous, and if you don’t like what I have to say, again, don’t read it. Not my problem

@kilburnanna, Ffs do not recommend castor oil. Do not recommend anyone attempt to self induce before full term. Be happy that your baby didn’t have any complications, that’s not the case for many babies whose mothers do what you did.

Baby isn't done developing, don't rush it! One day inside the womb is equivalent to a weeks worth of development outside of the womb. The end of pregnancy sucks, but it is so important that your baby has this time to finish developing. Talk with any preemie mom and you wouldn't be trying to induce early, I promise.

I would say at least wait a week before you start inducing your labor so that his or her lungs more and it's brains you really really need to be careful with certain things castor oil can make you have diarrhea vomiting and make you dehydrated it can also be really dangerous to do it too soon to induce yourself and if you really really want to do to yourself go talk to the doctor and they can really tell you a lot about this or even YouTube it

Nope you’ve only got 4 more weeks. Those last few weeks are important for baby’s development so you don’t want baby coming for another month.

I'll be 39wks Sunday and I've been keeping active, sex, nesting, walking, mopping and I'm confident. Sort of😂
