So the gym grading structure at my daughter's school bases part of their grade on whether the team my child is playing on wins or loses. Like if her team loses her grade suffers. I don't know how I feel about this. I don't believe "everyone should get a trophy" but if she participates then she should get the grade I feel. Competition/extracurricular sports are different from a grade that will follow her to her college applications

That seems like a lot for an 11 year old, she’s in 6th grade right? That’s a lot for them at that age. I do believe they should be participating tho.

@boymomx3 yes 6th grade and not into sports at all.

Yikes that's pretty fucked up. Gym for me has always been if you show up on time, participate, and are a good sport....that's pretty unfair....if talk to the school

That isn't a fair grading system at all! Gym shouldn't be a team thing, it should be individual participation. If my gym class in school was graded on how your team did, then any team I was on would've failed. I was terrible at gym. Except ping pong. And yoga. I was very good at those, hahaha.

That’s BS.
Dressing out and participation is how my kids are graded. I know not every place will grade the same but that’s pretty intense. Sounds like a breeding ground for bullying.
