Ayvah had her well child check today with her pediatrician, and a follow-up from her UTI that she completed antibiotics for. Her pediatrician ordered an ultrasound of her kidney and a VCUG (?) where they place a catheter and enter dye and medicine to make sure her kidney isn't having reflux. Any of you go through this? I have a stint in my kidney and have had surgeries on my kidney so I wonder if it's hereditary?

I have no personal experience but I wish you and your baby girl the VERY BEST of luck through all this. I KNOW you've got to be super stressed mama but just try to stay as positive as you possibly can. I know that sounds WAY easier than it actually will be to do but you gotta keep it light for your girl, they can sense when we're all worried and stressed and kinda get that way themselves. I hope everything works out mama.

My daughter had Vesicoureteal reflux, she endend in the hospital at about 11 days old. And that's when they discovered it because she had a UTI so they did the test where they put the catherer with the dye an so on. So we were refered to urology. And they prescribed her antibiotics to take every single day. Until she was about 1 year old. Then they would repeat the test with the catherer to see if she didn't have the urine reflux anymore. They told us maybe the tubes going from her bladder to her kidneys were too short. And maybe as she would grow, the tubes too. They gave us several reasons why it could be happening, but the couldn't tell. Thankfully by 1 year old it was gone!

Also i couldn't give her baths or take her in pools because that would increase of her having UTIs.

@leonardsquared THANK YOU!! I'll definitely try to not worry but it's so hard! I have major anxiety over just getting her catheterized again for the test. The cry and noises when they catheterized her to test for the UTI was soul crushing.

@ajowens1547 she just had that UTI when she was 11 days old. And never again in her first year of life. She had one back in march but the reason could be was because i was potty trainning her and she was holding her pee.
I would only give her baths but i wouldn't let her tub get filled with water. I would let it flow out. I really pray your daughter doesn't, it was hard when we had to take my son in the pool and we couldn't bring her in.

@ajowens1547 and yes it'a so painful hearing them cry, I wasn't with her when they did the first test for the catherer. Buylt i was there when they did the second test when she was one. I was holding her arms, trying to soothe her and it was so sad to see her suffer 😢
