I'm curious if anyone knows this but my son has kaiser with his dads insurance its not a very good plan we practically pay for everything out of pocket so we are changing it this month when open enrollment starts. But we took our son in to the doctors for a cold on the 27th of september and just got a bill from kaiser saying he was brought it for a serious condition and that we owed them 225$ for his visit. Is this right?! As far as I know a cold isn't a serious medical issue and when we made the appointment we said it was to check on his cold and the doctor that saw him said he was perfectly healthy and it would just run its course and sent us home. No antibiotics no blood work nothing. Just the basic check his temp, ears and mouth. I'm calling them tomorrow to see what is going on but just want to know if this seems right to you guys?! He had an ear infection before with a high fever and we paid a lot less than this.

Wow I had kaiser and never went through this , maybe it’s how the insurance is set up with his job , have you guys met your deductible? My co pays were only 15 dollars and that was it standard, and pharmacy was 10 flat .. I would have him call , sounds like a deductible issue , or it can be the doctor was out of network and was working at kaiser for the night , also it could be just that it was coded incorrectly, you should just call ..

@jellybeans_mumm I am calling them in the morning when I first called they were closed. As far as I know we haven't he's only went for two baby wellness check ups and two other visits. I think it must have been a coding issue.
