Every day i get closer to my due date i get more scared. I know labor will hurt and like I'm ready…

I feel ya..I’m hoping to have a Vbac (vaginal delivery after cesarean)but I’m scared cus I had a C-section with my first..

Been there! Don’t worry. Breathing is obviously the most important thing and having a main focal point really helped me. I went natural with my first and got an epidural with my second. If your in too much pain girl don’t be afraid to ask for the good stuff! As my sister in-law said, Epidurals are Beautiful! Lol I couldn’t agree more! I was able to sleep!

I see you’re getting an epidural- for me I didn’t feel pain until after my water broke and I had the epidural right after- wasn’t bad at all. The pain was AFTER- very bad, but much more tolerable than having pain while it’s happening. With the epidural you feel pressure, but not pain.

@amysbabies yeah i definitely plan an epidural. Its the labor and getting the epidural that scares me lol. My biggest fear are needles. Thankfully i won't see the shot. I've just heard horror stories about how bad it hurts

@jaquelinerachelle, the epidural wasn’t really bad. And I actually looked at the needle—- I don’t get freaked out by those things, but it did put me on edge a bit, so don’t look! My husband stood in front of me and helped hold me still and that helped a lot. Make sure you know how far you are dilated, they check you every so often. I could have waited a lot longer BUT there was only 1 anesthesiologist on the floor and I was so far along I was afraid I wouldn’t get it in time. Good thing I did because baby came 2 hrs later. Just try to relax and the biggest thing with the epidural is to not focus on it, but DO NOT move. Try not to think

Of other stories- for me they numbed the area a bit first which I’m sure helped :)

@amysbabies yeah they start checking to see if im dilated Wednesday. And how long does the epidural last?

@jaquelinerachelle, for me them checking me hurt worse than the epidural! The epidural will last as long as they are pumping to meds through. You get a little button that gives you some control on how much you get- it doesn’t let you get to a dangerous level though- I don’t know what the time limit is, but I know at some point they don’t like to keep giving you the meds but I think it’s something crazy like 24 hrs- I could be wrong—- but you shouldn’t need them longer unless something is complicating the birth. Once they stop the medication, I forget how long you stay numb for, it’s like a few hours?? Time really lost all meaning, but for a while they won’t let you up. It didn’t make a difference though.
