*BREAST Feeding MOMS* Is a breast pump an absolute necessity for breast feeding? If so why?

No. But it is nice if you have to go somewhere without baby to have a supply built up. I have to go back to work so we will need baby to be used to bottles soon. After our second was born I had retained placenta. I was given medicine to help it pass and I couldn't breastfeed for the entire time I was taking it. To keep my supply up I had to pump at the normal times he would eat and throw it away. With our first he couldn't latch so I had to pump and bottle feed him.

I haven't used mines yet and I breast feed only all-day long.

Insurance covers one personally might as well just get one on standby. I loved having one, it gives you more freedom. If you want a night out you pump give the milk to Grandma for baby....freedom ....
