Verbal abuse - name calling, threatening, belittling, aggressive criticism.
Emotional - manipulation, withholding, isolation, controlling, and some of above.

My definition would be my stepfather he would tell me I'm very beautiful and that men are always going to want me and then turn around and tell me that I was not shit and i was an ugly person at every chance he could get. From the time i got up till i went to sleep. So pretty much lift me up then broke me down from sun up to sun down.

@kambam oh OK. thank you

Well I cant put the first thing that comes to mind because I'm not that kind of person. But someone who attacks mentally, and emotionally, using words as weapons. This abuse is not always thought of as abuse because it is not physical but it does take a toll on the victim or victims. The victims tend to blame themselves for everything, believe they are being treated this way because they are in the wrong, are the first to apologize, and tend to hold every emotion to themselves because they are scared itll ne used against them. Also the victims of this abuse, because they hold their emotions in, when they break they explode with anger. Where the abuser is using, and twisting words to hurt and manipulate the victim, theyll blame them for feeling, thinking and trying to talk. The abuser then will start manipulating more and more gaining control..

@chaoticandloveit thank you for that. Being serious.

@chaoticandloveit, oh YES girl and THANK GOD!! I did stay WAY longer than I should have and wasted a LOT of time on that asshole but I couldn't be happier now! I've been with my WONDERFUL husband for almost 5 years now and he's SO opposite of my ex it's not even funny! It took a while for me to get used to a NORMAL functioning relationship and how those actually work but we're doin great.

@leonardsquared that's wonderful!!! I love hearing that ♡♡♡ and I have been with my S/o for 2 years now and it's so much better than feeling like everything is my fault. When I say sorry, hes quick to tell me it's nothing to apologize for, and I didnt do it. Now of only my sons real mom wasn't the abuser.. life would be fully free
