We celebrated our daughter’s bday early because of my due date and had it two weeks after the shower! It was the perfect amount of time between. For the shower, it was mainly family- we just had them over for lunch and two games, and it went nice. I also had a work shower which was nice since I didn’t have to do any planning. We did both at our house (not work one obviously) which was convenient and for my daughter we rented a bounce house which was a true hit! It looks like we are in similar positions as far as child spacing :).

I feel the same way. I feel like the anxiety and me not being prepared is worse than me becoming a first time mom. Maybe because im afraid of how it will be when the new baby comes home and everything is completely different, im not sure. But im not sure how it is in texas but i know where i had my last baby shower at back home they have community centers where when you rent it out its $50 for the whole day, and once you return the key, you get the $50 back as long as the place isnt trashed after you leave.

@ash101398 I feel so unprepared for this second baby. Then with the weather changing here it texas it's so unpredictable how its gonna be. Never been a fan of renting a place out just a waste of money for the time that's its gonna be used. But I dont know will see. With my first I had my shower at 35 weeks. I'm 28weeks right now so will see how I feel in the coming up weeks.

@maria.trejo925, we havent started buying anything either. We are slacking this time around lol. With my first i had my baby shower around 3 months before she was born. I wanted to make sure we had mostly everything we need to be prepared. A shower is always very helpful, but sometimes it just doesnt work out with the timing of everything, unfortunately.

@ash101398 mines due January 2 so it can all mean coming by the holidays. It's just way to soon. My husband tells me we dont need to. But havin a shower is always helpful for all the cute outfits. I haven't even started buying clothes or nothing. We already have a crib and stroller/carseat.

Im in the same position. Baby is due late January/early February. We are having my first’s bday party in 2 weeks. Then after that its time to start buying for christmas. Its just hard planning everything around major holidays. I want a baby shower this time too, but its just alot of expenses. All within a few months.

If you had a bday party for his 1st or 2nd, I would definitely do something small like chuckle cheese or something. That’s what I’m gonna do. And even if you didn’t , remember that these early bday parties are more for us then them. Their not gonna remember anything. So don’t stress to much. I say just do something he’ll love and and enjoy and that ll help take some stress off your shoulder !
