When can u start pumping

I started in the hospital too. Turns out, colostrum is good for later when the baby gets sick, so I pumped immediately & froze it all.

@terieg I started like a few weeks before my due date and froze it

They say it’s best to wait until 6 weeks postpartum so your body can regulate to baby’s demands and you don’t end up with an oversupply

I waited a few weeks even though they say wait 6. I know I am an underproducer so I needed to stimulate more. I only pumped once a day though.

@laniejay not in the post. You must mean someone who commented. Either way, my comment is referencing after delivery. Honestly, I never heard of pumping beforehand. I don't mind admittimg that I didn't even know it was possible.

@terieg, @laniejay, I tried to pump and my milk isn’t coming out but my daughter is getting it out when she starts to eat my other tit starts to leak

@annadoran09, get a milk saver or a haaka! They are far more efficient at getting it out, don’t worry. Pump output is not indicative of supply.

@annadoran09 have you tried pumping while feeding her?
