I posted a similar question earlier this week but Has anyone been induced with a ‘very unfavourable’ cervix? I am aiming for a VBAC, had a consultants appointment today and they have decided to induce me next week. Tried giving me a sweep but cervix still ‘very unfavourable’. Just wondering what the chances are of successful induction or if anyone has had similar experience. Nervous as I had a EMCS following a failed induction with my son x

@nat_ it's so tough as different consultants give different advice and some are really pro VBAC whilst others seem to want to intervene just because of previous section. Maybe call your midwife and say the concerns and ask if you can discuss with your actual consultant. I'd never go against medical advice personally (only mention as a lot of women trying for VBAC do have to challenge those not supporting their decision) BUT I definitely think it's worth querying and asking for second opinion. Good luck lovely x

Hi, I've tried for VBAC but baby had other ideas (unstable lie) I'm confused as to why they want to induce when baby is 8lb? Bare in mind growth scans are unreliable especially the further you are into pregnancy. Also don't forget you can decline induction, but I would definitely be questioning the consultant.

Oh thank you I will take a look now.
They are inducing as concerned baby’s growth is stalling (even though he is 8lb)! The consultant who has booked me in for induction isn’t my actual consultant she was just on call so I’m not sure how comfortable I am with it! X

I was with my first and it ended in a section. I'm trying for a vba2c in December but both me and the consultant have agreed no induction or sweeps, etc unless medically necessary. Is there a reason for induction? I'm in a VBAC support group on Facebook an there's loads of helpful advice on there. Would definitely recommend. It's called 'VBAC SUPPORT GROUP UK'
