Anyone hear this before ? The dr told me that the cord grew /formed in the wrong spot on the placenta. I have to get ultrasounds regularly now. Had anyone heard of this

Velamentous Cord insertion. It’s the medical term for an abnormal umbilical Cord. I have VCI with this baby. Basically her Cord is attached to fetal membrane. You could google for a better understanding but I was just curious if they told you a name for what your condition is.

Don’t worry, so far everything has been okay with this pregnancy. She’s still growing normally. They just have to be careful when delivering her because of it.

@mamadrick, my mom and I read up on it. It sounds so scary to give birth 😩😭 my dr told me 9 times out of ten I will be getting a c section. It feels better to hear how far along you are and everything’s okay.
