Anybody any ideas for a timeout place for a 2 year old, she’s repeatedly doing things and laughing in my face when I say no and tell her it’s naughty, I’ve put her in her cot for 10 mins but don’t want her to think her cot is a naughty place really? Any help would be great thanks x
I remember trying it when Morgan was about 18/20months maybe and it didn't work. He just didn't understand. Tried again when he was over 2yrs and he got it much quicker lol
Thank you everyone, I do g think she really understands yet, which makes it hard, but it’s something to try in the future x
I used the bottom step of the stairs. It didn't work to begin with. I did have to keep putting him back. But once he learnt what time out was he would stay put.
I use a certain corner and put him there for his timeouts. He knows to stay until he's calmed down then he comes to me and gives me a cuddle. It's usually for a minute or 2 as he will forget what's annoyed him after that lol. X
Have you looked into positive reinforcement? It's much more effective at this age, young children do not really understand right for wrong and I don't think they would understand time out as such. It a bit of work and would take a few weeks before it clicks that they get rewarded for the things you like them to do but it's a really good method of teaching them right from wrong and any now skills you want them to learn in the future xx
I have started putting them in there cot so I can count to ten and have a few minutes brake haha but like you said I don't want them to think bed is a bad thing and they defo wouldn't stay on a naughy chair/step! @hawkie75
@chesscalouise2, nice to know someone is having the same problem lol it’s so frustrating, I think she’s just too young to understand but I feel like I can’t just let her get away with it I need to start putting something in place
That’s thing I don’t think she would stay! It would just end up being her running off and me chasing her, she’s still young I know, as she just thinks everything is a big joke
You could buy a little chair or if you have stairs sit her on the bottom step x
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?

My sweet baby girl gained her angel wings this morning. She was my best friend, my true love my everything. She was so happy and beautiful, I'm struggling to say good bye. Sleep tight princess, mummy and daddy love you very very much ❤️

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...
Has anyone else thought of this nonsense with her being weird, not having consistent information etc. as seeming a whole lot like the beginning of Glee with the fake pregnancy?!
need suggestions....
So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
@sara-lou86, thanks Hun, I’ll keep persevering, she’s 2 next week so not quite there yet xxx
