@verguinia, they can actually. It takes a lot more, but it is possible. I’ve actually seen it.
@verguinia, difference is that a very little bit of water can throw off their electrolytes- formula replenishes them. There is something called water intoxication in babies- read up on it.
@ladyblauvelt I was thinking if people already give formula using baby water then they are giving the water to them so without the formula in it it's still the water. Idk I'm gonna ask anyways
@verguinia I was giving my first a little pedialyte here and there starting at 2m because he got sick and couldn't keep formula down so to stay hydrated he needed to drink that as well as formula.
@ladyblauvelt I want to ask him because I don't remember what I did with my first daughter it's been so long :(
Regular water is recommended to wait until they are starting solids but pedialyte is ok I believe... but always ask your doctor
I always gave my son water since he was a month old. Just a sip or two. He’s going to be 11 months the 16th and he’s perfectly healthy!! 💚 You should listen to your gut and if you think it’s okay for you to give him water go ahead.
I agree with waiting. Unless the doctor says there is a medical reason to give her some, she gets plenty through your breast milk.
There’s no need until they’re eating solids which should be about 6 months
Baby is getting plenty of water through formula. She doesn't need water till 6 months when you start solids
I'd wait until 6 months. Definitely ask the doctor. What is your reasoning though? Why would you want to?
We had to give my son little bits of water starting at 2 months, but I would get it approved by her pedi first
@laniejay omg !!! That's crazy !!!!
