I can’t get into see a gynecologist until dec 6th why the hell does it take so long fml
Blah, that sucks. Mine was the same way, but I think it’s difficult to get that first appointment because they have to spend soooo much more time with you on that initial visit. You have labs, you and the doctor both have questions, the paperwork, you’ll get a pap done, there is just a lot of stuff going on at the first appointment.
Then again, I need to see my rheumatologist so bad and back in August I made an appointment for February because it was the soonest they can get me in unless enough people cancel, so I’m on a waiting list. Waiting for specialist appointments blows.
Pregnant women do normally wait that long for first appt, usually you call when you get your positive hpt (4-6 weeks) and don’t get an apt until 10-14 weeks. Obs are usually pretty busy so for non emergent cases waiting couple months for an appt is totally normal.
Normally the first prenatal appointment are done at 8 weeks I believe. I went in to see if I was pregnant and usually they did an ultrasound to see how far along I always found out really early and they would book my first prenatal at 8 weeks.
Here where I live non emergent pregnant women won't see a doctor until 10-12 weeks
@ashleyvaughn20133, They don’t make pregnant women wait that long, non emergent cases such as yourself are subject to a wait. Prenatal care and a regular Gynie appt are completely different and don’t have the same protocols.
@momof2gs, I’ve called every office in my town and the only one that accepts my insurance I can’t get in until dec 6th
What about in a nearby town? When I was looking for an endocrinologist I had the same issue. I had a 6 month wait for the one in my town & only a 2 week wait for one 40 mins away.
I mean do pregnant woman have to wait that long not talking about me don’t they know that they need prenatal care as soon as possible
Specialists usually have a long wait unless it’s considered emergent to get in right away.
How’d the doctor go yesterday?
