You should check your blood sugar levels. Type 1 Diabetic here. Anytime I smell maple syrup it’s because my blood sugar levels are like Sky high. During pregnancy glucose(blood sugar) levels can elevate. At least rule that out early on to be safe instead of waiting until like 20 weeks. If they aren’t willing to do it for some strange reason, go to the ER. I’d tell you to go buy it yourself but you’d have to buy the monitor, lancets, and testing strips. I don’t want you to go waste money on something you may or may not have to use ever again.
@bandemom1016, nope. I’ve heard lots of women say they smell maple syrup during pregnancy/breastfeeding though. I wouldn’t be too concerned but you can always bring it up to your doctor at your next appt.
If your pregnant if could just be something you crave or you now have in your head so that’s why you are smelling it. I don’t think it’s anything to be worried about though.
