Okay moms, i need help. I live in Missouri. I have two kids. They both have the same dad (he left them) but he didn’t sign my youngest birth certificate but he did my oldest. Can I move out of state with them? He has zero contact with my kids.

You should be able to move and just file in a different state. You just have to wait 3-6months after you move to file at a new state. Every state has different rules. Check with a lawyer. Get different opinions from at least 3 different lawyers.

I personally wish I would’ve moved first. My daughters dad was MIA and I made the mistake of starting the process to request to move. X showed up to court and immediately requested a geographical restriction even though he had not seen her in months. Judge gave it to him as an “opportunity” to make up with his daughter.

In mo i think it's 6 months and they'll get abandonment. Just talk to a lawyer.

Most states, no. I would go through the court system though. Get child support, maybe ask about filing abandonment etc

@kjbailey2016 you will need to ask a lawyer about the laws there. My husband adopted my son without his sperm donor knowing. He wasn't on the brith certificate and never saw him

Here a parents loses right if a yr with no contract

In Arkansas you have to have the other parent's permission. How long has he had no contract with them?
