I previously posted (about 5-6 days ago) about how my ultrasound went and etc. The same day they drew blood from me since I didn’t get my blood work done after my first prenatal appointment. So of course as I’m getting my blood drawn I ask the phlebotomist what they’re testing for. She tells me she didn’t know. And I’m assuming it’s to test for STD’s, HIV or if I have anything genetically wrong with me. So after a few days I start to wonder when they’ll call and let me know the results.. so I called earlier and the nurse told me that the blood work was being done for genetic testing and not normal blood tests.. so I was like.. I thought that’s what the amniocentesis was for. And she says “They both do the same thing but this is what the blood was taken for, the results won’t be back for at least a couple weeks.” I’m like woaaaaahh. When was someone gonna tell me? My next ultrasound is on the 16th I think I’ll know what the gender is by then.. They just have me soooo confused. Now I have to go get more blood drawn tomorrow.
