For those of you that has had an epidural during labor were you able to still push without issue? One of my worries is that I’ll be so numb I won’t be able to feel when to push, so I’m still on the fence about the whole epidural thing..
With my first I couldn’t feel anything when it was time to push the nurse kept telling me “push push you’re getting a contraction” but I just couldn’t feel anything because I was so drugged up. The second time the epidural messed up and only half of my body was numb so definitely helped me push since I was able to feel everything. With my 3rd I was at a 6 and half when I got the epidural after they started pitocin and broke my water, 2 hours later I was at a 10 and was still a little tingly but was able to lift my legs and could feel a lot of pressure. I kept telling my husband to call the nurse to check me that I felt my body was ready to push and sure enough 10 min later he was out.
I had an epidural but it only numbed the top half of my uterus/stomach so when it was time to push I definitely felt the urge but it wasn’t painful.. that is until she came through bc it didn’t numb my vagina
@aengs2, okay thank you 😊 possibly gonna have my daughter today or tomorrow so I’m trying to make a quick decision
I had an epidural both times. With my son I pushed through 3 contractions before he was here. With my daughter I pushed through 1 contraction before she was here. The epidural didn't impact my ability to push. You feel the pressure, just no pain. The doctors and nurses guide you.
I knew when to push. I could still feel pressure. And my doctor helped coach me. It was quick too I pushed 3x lol it’s definitely different with everyone. I think the adrenaline of knowing I was about to have my baby kicked in and I wasn’t tired.
I got an epidural.. it wasn’t working so they redid it.. still did not work:/ I felt every single thing! If I was to ever have another baby, I won’t get it.
@rebelprincesz24 yes this will be my last one as well lol well I hope not planing on anymore
@seanvna, it’s definitely a thought but I’m still not 100% sure just yet
@ladyygee, I understand that. It’s just so darn painful til it’s over with haha. I may try natural again since this is my last one
@cakes, that’s one of my fears is something going wrong and me not being able to feel myself pushing
@rebelprincesz24 I just wanna be full alert when my son is born that epidural makes me tired I wanna be up when my son comes out I was fine after my daughter came out
With my son I had an epidural and I honestly didn’t feel anything the pain or me pushing. They kept saying push, push and I’m like I am I am trying to push. He actually stopped breathing because I guess I wasn’t pushing hard enough l, but thank the lord he is a healthy little babe. It was so scary at first, but doctors and nurses are some amazing people 💛
@rebelprincesz24 awww sorry to hear that imma go head with the Natural again it was hard but imma so it
Girlie.! Get it.!! Do it.!! I am telling you.! Do it.! 😝😊😂
@alexias, @ladyygee, my preemie that was born way too early and only made it 10 days was all natural but she was so small so it wasn’t all that bad, with my toddler the most pain I felt was right when they started the pitocin and broke my water to give me that final push to finish dilating, but it hurt sooo bad I started sweating and was begging them to let me push.. I’m soo worried how much it’s gonna hurt this time but I know it’s not gonna last very long.
@rebelprincesz24 with my first son I was so druged I was 19teen I feel asleep several times but it took me a while to push him out the second time was easier 3 pushes my second son was born my 3rd time with my daughter I had her Natural very easy and fast it hurt but I plan for natural this time around again it wasn't that bad I can do it again good luck mama on what you decide
Girl i had gotten epidural, when it was time to push i felt everything. It wore off !
for mommies who have had babies. is pushing the baby out hard when you get the epidural. I'm afraid of not being able to push the baby out as silly as that must sound lol
How many of you Mama's to be are getting a push present? I still haven't gotten my last 2 push presents so I plan on looking for a few cheap push presents or 1 expensive push present to make up for the last 2 he didn't get me & this one😁
Potty Training *Updated*
Why is there such a push to do it so early?
Okay so idk why people are trying to scare me about giving birth but is it true that even after you get an epidural you hurt down there while pushing? Like bad. I was in the room with my sister when she gave birth and she didn't even know if she was pushing or not
So epidural mommas, is it true that you HAVE to have a catheter inserted?? 🙄🙄
If your not good with pain your gonna want the epidural. I had an epidural and was numb and I’m glad because I spent 3 hours pushing, if I didn’t get it I would have been in so much pain pushing for that long! The nurses and even my husband held my feet up and helped me to push. It was amazing. I’d suggest to any mom get the epidural!
