Breastfeeding mommas! Help! Never had this issue with my first. My son is 5 days old, he had a tounge tie but we got it clipped. His latch was okay when he was born and he’s gaining a lot right now so I figured it’s just normal pains that would subside.

Well when he did an early appointment Friday they were worried my milk hadn’t come in yet (he was two days old) and didn’t want his jaundice to go up over the weekend so a different pediatrician suggested I pump and feed him formula. Looking back I shouldn’t have done it but I’m pretty sure it’s what caused this. I pumped for about two sets of twenty minutes and realized he was barely 3 days old and my milk came in that afternoon so I stopped.

Soooo if you’ve made it through all this HELP! I’m in so much pain when I nurse on one side.. the other one hurts but not as intensely like the left. It hurts also when I’m not nursing and just constantly leaks.

I have an appointment with a lactation consultant tomorrow so I’m just looking for help in the meantime!

Thanks.. no fever and I was thinking it might just be engorgement.. I don’t feel lumps and the soreness is just all over the breast

Sounds like you might have a clogged duct or maybe you’re just engorged because your milk just came in. Do you have a sore lump that doesn’t feel like it gets drained when baby nurses? If so, then that’s a clog. Massage it in the shower and hand express milk out. It’s normal to be engorged for the first several weeks but if it’s a clog then you’ll want to clear it ASAP.

I would massage and put hot rag on my boobs and hand pump to help ease the pain

When can I start giving my son regular milk? He turns 10 months in 2 days. I bought unsweetened almond milk yesterday so he can try. Would that be okay? I’m lowkey tired of him on formula but I mean he’s still a baby lol.

amysbabies 12 months. Focus on purees, you can steam veggies and mash them yourself. Or mash up some
makethatfour I also was told to start peanut butter at 6 months for exact what @tacos4lyfe stated.
jazzyjazz I gave my kids a little peanut butter at around 8 months...and transitioned them to cows milk

My son loves the bottle more than my breast 😫 he gets so fussy when I give him my breast but has no issue with with bottle. As long as his eating I’m okay with it. I’ve been pumping and I hate pumping!!

boymom_4 @symantha_chandler, 🤔 I’ll try it and see
mimixtmn This is the exact reason why pumping and bottle feeding isn’t recommended until after your supply is
2sweetie It’s recommended to wait at least 4 weeks before introducing a bottle for this exact reason. The

I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

lillyb Good job giving ur self a break we all need them. See if maybe she will nurse
delete____ I have to commend you for stepping away, momma!! Everyone reacts to a child screaming differently and
imisssleep123456789 Ugh I remember those days. With both kids I decided to always top them off with formula.
