@brose0205, ... why would they do vaginal cervix checks when you have history of perterm labour? I also have a history of preterm labour and im not
To be checked vaginally at all . Since my second child they said it can trigger it (im now on my fifth child ) they check via regular ultrasound.
As of 34 weeks they were able to see that im closed and “long”
@mamachey I just had one done today due to having preterm labor but my doctor said after 32 weeks they stop doing it at least where I go.
@lillynellasmom, thats interesting how it differs 🤷🏾♀️ were you put on pelvic rest at all like no dtd
@mamachey, 16-24 weeks they said to check the length. I’m having my last one this week I believe.
@lillynellasmom, oh ok then it must be different situation cause here preterm high risk they do no vag anytjing
@brose0205, oh ok they check with us here but thats good whatever works
They gave me a pill to take for my third but i was afraid of the side effects (mainly cancer) so i was jusy extra cautious and i actually made it to the due date
I had cervical checks every 2-3 weeks with this pregnancy up until 30 weeks due to preterm labor.
I have an incompetent cervix, so they usually start my appointments with my highrisk dr @ 12 weeks. They usually do vaginal ultrasounds, from what i can remember with my daughter. &’ I meet with them every two weeks, and i had to meet them every week when my cervix was shortening up until i had my cerclage and progesterone shots and they noticed my cervix was no longer opening up, but i was put on strict bedrest. so not sure if that also helped me.
@rndmshtt, yeah may have. My cervix has been fine It hasn’t shortened so they do not know why I had a previous pre term labor. I was just curious cause they never say if it’s opened or closed just tells me if it’s a good length
@brose0205, Yeah, i think normally your cervix isnt suppose to shorten dramatically until youre close to delievering. Unfortunately, sometimes it does happen prematurely for some women. Hopefully yours stay nice and long!☺️ You can ask them to explain while you get your vaginal ultrasounds. I always did ☺️ How often are your ultrasounds?
@rndmshtt, I get ultrasounds every two weeks. That’s why they were monitoring to make sure I didn’t shorten early because I gave birth at 23 weeks last February
Oh man! Congrats on passing the 23rd week this pregnancy! Hopefully your cervix stays strong 💪🏻 Until full term!
@rndmshtt, yeah everything’s good so far with the progesterone shots. Thankyou
@brose0205, hehe do you have someone helping you with your shots? I def dont miss the shots but honestly i’d prefer them than the pills 😅 I’m currently on the pills, once i get my cerclage again i’m getting the shots.
@brose0205, Ahhh, i did mines at home. Probably will do the same thing this time. My obgyn is like 40 minutes away, and my highrisk is about an hour away😖😭😂
So is this baby your rainbow baby?😍💗 Are you excited?
@rndmshtt, yeah I’m only about 15 mins away from mine lol and yes it is and i am very excited
m@brose0205, How exciting!! Hopefully they keep monitoring you and baby.
Did you start shoopping yet?☺️
